Placeholder for Home Renovation of the Garage details:
As we are going along, we'll post some photos. For now, we're using this to track progress and questions. We'll organize these in Last-In-First-Out order, so the recent stuff is near the top of the table below:

? What about the foam under the Click Marmoleum? Advisable to use, seems recommended and I like the idea of a nice foam padded surface.

? What to do about crews who are doing something we believe isn't correct or appropriate? In this case after being asked NOT to use an exterior ladder inside, the crew took the ladder apart and used it indoors anyway!

Just explain more clearly and remove any equipment not to be used and any materials not to be in harms way.
? I found the motor and sections of track from the garage door in a heap behind the house where it had been in the rain. Unfortunately we didn't see those parts, so I guess if it the motor wasn't ruined before, please ask the crews to ask us if there is any question on what to do with our items that are in the crew's way.

We'll look over the rails with Wayne Dalton people and see what is still usable.
? There is one switch box and one outlet box where the drywall was cut over the box with the switch or outlet cover on, instead of removing the outlet cover and box. Is that OK? Most of the outlet boxes have been removed or never installed, but I thought it odd that they put on drywall compound over some switches, switchplates, and outlets.

? Is the HVAC indoor unit going to go a bit to right and down further at floor level, or be mounted up at window height. Is that a suggested place to install it up chest high?
2008-08-12
Explanation OK, needs to go 4-6' off the floor, so wires are currently perfectly positioned.
? Do the lines from the HVAC indoor coil need to be cut into the beams a bit soon?
2008-08-12
? Are the lines from the HVAC indoor coil going to be cut into the beams a bit and the place where leads come out of the garage moved so that we won't have to take special care and not be able to put stuff up against the back walls of the garage or maybe finish it off someday?
2008-08-10
(Lee?) Yes, they will be cut back into the wall to allow for something flush to be put against the backwall and allow the outlet near the lines to be more usable.
? What marmoleum colors and pattern for the garage office floor?
2008-07-xx
Drawing sent to Matt & Lee (post link). Had a bit of an interesting time with the online Click floor planner tool which works great first use, but when you reload a design, it loads the European color pallette, not the US one!
? What is the marmoleum Click recommended subfloor for use in this garage office?
2008-07-xx
(Common Ground) Recommended to use 1/4 plywood with seams oriented to eliminate seams from old floor coming through. Also, Click recommends what looks like thin sheet underlayment foam as an option.
We talked, and Julie and I want that option, thanks!
